Louise Swift, public sector sales director for Interface, delivered our December lecture, introducing Society members to the company’s Mission Zero goal - to have no negative impact on the planet.
Interface are pushing the boundaries of commercial flooring and looking at sustainable solutions through life cycle analysis of their contract flooring products.
Louise detailed the key stages in the manufacturing route at which they aim to eliminate waste, cut emissions, use fewer raw materials, or reuse and recycle previous product.
Transparency in creating an environmental product is their aim.
Interface invented the carpet tile over 50 years ago, yet they continue to innovate both in design and in the raw materials they use.
Embracing biomimetic product development and biophilic design trends, Interface successfully out perform their customer expectations in product design, whilst working closely with communities affected by worldwide challenges in re-using waste.
Thanks to Louise for taking the time to speak to the Society about Interface’s innovations and goals.
