Meet Huddersfield Textile Society’s new President Stephen Sheard.
The final degree shows for textile students was held in mid-June. The standard across the board was very high and it was therefore difficult to award the Huddersfield Textile Society prizes.
This year's competition attracted 700 entries from 32 colleges across 15 categories.
A very successful dinner celebrating 111 years of the Society. 200 members and friends attended the annual get together for the industry.
I can’t believe that more than a year has passed since I took up the prestigious position of President of the Huddersfield Textile Society, and what a year it has been!
It does not seem all that long since we held the AGM and our Annual Dinner. Firstly, if you were able to attend the dinner, I hope you enjoyed the venue, meal and enjoyed meeting up with friends and colleagues.
The dinner was very well attended this year with 204 people coming. We really have Adrian Smith to thank for this for his enthusiastic encouragement and reminders to companies to attend.
We are pleased to announce that at our AGM on 16th April 2012 Chris Wilkinson took over from Bill Skidmore as President of the Society.
